You may well be aware that London is almost 2000 years old. So history in London is like searching a bottomless well: you can go deep but you will never touch the ground. What I love about London’s history is that is it never boring: all the blood & tears this city had to endure and all the great people who left their mark make learning about London’s history such an adventure. Another great thing about London is that history is respected but it is not sacrificed to the needs of everyday life so the new and the old happily coexist together. The city is alive and new offices are built right next to 1000-year old churches. And I cannot dismiss the royalty, of course. Learning about the royal family is always exciting: every time I learn something new about them it is a great relief to know they are only human.
