When I was a tour guide in London almost every second tourist I worked with said that food in London was bad. And don’t get me wrong, some places, especially around the tourist areas like Piccadilly and Leicester Square are exceptionally bad. But over the past 10 years London has raised its bar dramatically. And not just the high end of it like Michelin starred restaurants (although London has more such restaurants than any other city on this planet). The budget places have become exceptionally good as well. But the best thing is that some middle range restaurants can offer some extraordinary experience for reasonable prices (and that’s probably where you’d want to go if you come to London as a tourist).
